Understanding Product Types in Trainin

Quick Summary
Your Products in Trainin represent everything you sell to clients. This can include credit-based products like Single Sessions, Memberships or Credit Packs, as well as retail items such as gift-cards, clothing, drinks, or video’s.
You can create and manage these products in My Company > Products and sell them through your digital Shop, a unique payment link, or even your POS (available in Pro/Premium accounts).
Why This Matters
Setting up your Products correctly allows you to control how clients purchase and access your services. Credit-based products allow clients to book Activities, while retail products allow you to sell physical or digital items through your business.
Which credit-product should I pick? We offer 4 types of credit-products:
Single session: as the name suggests this is a product that can be used for 1 booking (generally 1 credit) ideal for trial sessions, one off events, or for people that don’t want to commit to buying multiple credits at once. The validity of the product will start counting from the moment of purchase (i.e. one month from the moment of purchase)
Credit pack: this is a product that will contain more than one credit and can be used as the client wants within the set validity. This gives the client a lot of flexibility and visibility in how many sessions they can still attend before a certain date. The validity of the product will start counting from the moment of purchase or from the date of the first booking when purchased through the booking module.
Membership: this is ideal for clients who come regularly, it will give them credits to use in an interval that you set up (i.e. 1 credit per week) and this is generally a commitment for a slightly longer period of time, or even an ongoing membership with recurring payments.
Day or week pass: this is ideal for someone that is visiting your business for a day or a week, starting from the moment they purchase it, they can then attend all the linked activities as much as they want for that day or week.
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1: Open the products section: My Company > Products
– This is where you manage all the Products you want to sell to clients.
Step 2: Create a new credit product: My Company > Products > New Product
– Start creating a new Product and choose the type that fits what you want to offer to your clients.
Step 3: Create a new item within the ‘retail, bar, video’s and giftcards section’: My Company > Products > Retail, bar, video’s and giftcards > New Item
Step 4: Organize your offerings by sorting them or creating product categories under the ‘More’ button. Here you can also set up your discount codes, discount rules or the registration fee.
Best Practice
Organize your Products so clients can easily understand what options they have and what they are purchasing. Use credit-based Products to enable your clients to book Activities, and use Retail Products for physical goods, digital content such as video’s, or gift cards.
